How to use BSFL Frass

How to Apply Black Soldier Fly Frass to Your Garden and Plants

1. Prepare the Soil: Before planting, mix frass into the topsoil. Use about 1-2 cups of frass per square yard of garden soil.

2. Top-Dress Plants: For established plants, sprinkle frass around the base of the plants, avoiding direct contact with stems. Water it in gently.

3. Use as a Mulch: Spread a thin layer of frass around plants as mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

4. Mix with Water: Create a liquid fertilizer by mixing frass with water. Use 1 part frass to 10 parts water, let it sit for 24 hours, then strain and use it to water plants.

5. Compost Addition: Add frass to your compost pile to enhance nutrient content and speed up decomposition.

6. Container Plants: For potted plants, mix frass into the potting mix or sprinkle it on top and water it in.

7. Regular Application: Reapply frass every 4-6 weeks during the growing season for continuous nutrient supply.

**Note**: Black Soldier Fly Frass contains chitin, a natural compound that helps deter pests and boosts plant immunity.
